ABOUT CHEF KEARNS
Chef Kearns began his passion for cooking at an early age at his grandmother’s side, where she served as chef at her own Upstate New York restaurant. Prior to enrolling in culinary school, he joined the United States Army where he received numerous awards and accolades for his distinguished service. After the military, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Colorado and started his culinary career working at some of Denver’s finest restaurants before relocating to Carmel, CA. with his wife in 2009.
Kearns refined his skills as Sous Chef at Casanova and La Bicyclette as well as other popular Monterey Peninsula restaurants, including Cantinetta Luca and Monterey Peninsula Country Club before returning to La Bicyclette in 2013 to serve as Executive Chef. During his time at La Bicyclette, Kearns impressed diners with his modern American cuisine prepared with classic European techniques and his use of locally sourced and foraged ingredients.
In 2016 Kearns became Executive Chef of Quail Lodge and Golf Club, where he oversaw all of Quail’s culinary offerings, which includes Edgar’s Restaurant, Covey Breakfast Restaurant, Waypoint and all weddings and special events held at the popular Carmel Valley golf club. Chef Kearns has also been invited as a guest chef to Pebble Beach Food & Wine several times, as well as hosting wine dinners for some of the most esteemed vineyards in the region.
